Amazing Glass and Metal Wind Ornament

I think this metal and glass lawn sculpture is amazing..stainless steel bowls and martini glasses make up the decorative elements, and some recycled pipes and fittings hold it all together. It stands about 6 feet tall and I'm sure it must make some interesting sounds when the wind blows.

Spanish Style in West Sacramento

Of all the new home designs and styles in West Sacramento..I like the Spanish Style in this development the best. These folks have done a great job in adding landscape and design accents to show off the best of the architectural elements.

Carolyn's Treasures

We went to visit our good friends Carolyn and Tom Sisson last week and as usual I became mesmerized by all of Carolyn's treasures. Trivia: Those baby shoes once belonged to long time Broderick resident Ethel Reynolds. Ethel and Norm Reynolds were old friends of the Norton family and they lived in one of the old Victorians on 3rd Street in Broderick.... If you read the pages from the past in the News-Ledger you will find lots of interesting anecdotes concerning the Reynolds and Norton families.

The Greening of Poquito Park: "Alice's Memorial Garden"

Poquito Park has been adopted by her neighbor. Valencia has been removing the weeds and raking the gravel for some time and now has planted a lovely garden in memory of her grandmother. Valencia says "...Memorial Garden is dedicated to my late Grandmother Alice Docker who died last August 3, 2009. Some cactus plants were her's from Santa Barbara. All the rocks were donated by my friend Janet that lives only 2 houses away, she also donated some cactus. My best friend Marsha, donated a lot of the plants too. I hope people in the neighborhood will enjoy the park now, and maybe leave a plant in someone's memory and I will plant it. Maybe someone else will enjoying making our park look better and start planting plants on the other side too."
